Gingerbread Houses

We didn’t do a lot of unique crafting this week, but did have fun with making a Gingerbread House for family day.

We got a pre-made kit this year… because last years “Do-It-Yourself” was a disaster! Grumpy kids, falling apart houses, just no fun at all! The kids all had a hand in adding more frosting and candy for decorations.

We usually keep the house around until it gets stale, then smash and eat. This year the kids wanted to get to the eating right away, so Mr. Hockey and Prince Charming got right to punching through the walls. Hubbers added some yellow lemon filling for dipping. Apparently the breaking house scared the dog so much that it pee’d and the house landed in it… Ah the joy of having many boys.

Just stopping by from Mingle with Us. Making a ingerbread house with my preschooler is on the top of my to do list next week! Last year we made one from scratch, but this year we’re running out of time and we might end up with a pre-made kit too! I enjoyed peeking around on your blog…I’d love if you stopped by my blog sometime!
