My tots are 36 and 39 months old.
We are still on a summer schedule around here so not doing as much totschool as we would during the big kids school year. We are having far too much fun doing other things like visiting the park, working on our summer bucket list (post to come) and swimming in the pool.
I cut some strips of paper and laid them out on the table as waves. I asked Monkey Girl and Little Why to use their scissors to cut them up like a shark cutting through the waves in the ocean. They liked this activity a lot and I was very impressed with Little Why’s cutting skills. This is one of the first times we have used scissors and he was cutting like a pro! Monkey Girl did well too, but needed more help from me.
The ABC magnets got used a lot… until Monkey Girl and Little Why decided to shove them all under the fridge, we played with the rice bin and sorted colours and the littles enjoyed playing in the water table on hot sunny days.
We made number cards out of construction paper and dobbers. I simply wrote the numbers from 1-10 on a set of squares for both Monkey Girl and Little Why. I then helped them make the number of dots on each card. When they dried, we laid them out and “raced” cars from 1 to whatever number I called out. This was a big hit!
Monkey Girl has been spending lots of time with her wooden ABC blocks. This day she was particularly excited because she made a “sicewalk” during Little Why’s nap. I love how proud she was of her creation!
Finally, we used our new summer workbooks with sheets from 1+1+1=1.
And that will be it for now!
