About

This is me. I am the Momma of the bunch and often the one to instigate crafts, park outings, etc. I like doing things with my kids, and feel that I am truly in my element when I am elbow deep in paint or slathering sunscreen on a freckled arm! I do love my job – being a mom is really the one thing I most wanted to be as a child. My other aim was a teacher and that is what I am trained in. Too bad they didn’t offer “Being a mom 101” at the university! I am also a Parent Therapist which is just a fancy way of saying “Treatment Foster Parent”.

My Hubbers is a pretty wonderful guy. I love spending time with him and he is a wonderful daddy and provider for our family. We work as a team and even when we have our little spats, they are usually pretty quickly fixed. He is a computer scientist working with large computers at the local university and is the most intelligent person I know. I am not just saying that because he is my husband either, this man really is a brilliant guy!

Our oldest kiddo of the family really isn’t a kiddo anymore. Big Guy has grown into a friendly young man at 19 years old. Big Guy came to our family as a 15 year old with a need for stability and a family. He was our first “official” foster child. He loves video games and kung fu movies. He can be a super big help around here and we are so happy to have him in our family.

Next we have Elasto-Boy. This kid is so flexible, it is unbelievable. He is 12 years old, loves to read and trampoline. Elasto-Boy came to us as an 8 year old foster child who was a bit on the wild side. He has come a long way since then, and though he still struggles with ADHD and some of his past experiences he is really changing into a fine young man. He was adopted by us at age 11!

Mr. Hockey is our 9 year old hockey star. He loves to play and while he may not be the best on his team, he certainly doe have the Canadian hockey spirit. He came to us at 6 years old for the puprose of adoption… 3 years later, he officially became ours, though he was already ours in our hearts long before! He is a sweet boy with a big heart! He does have a stubborn streak though!

Queen Bee is the newest addition to our family. She came to us in August of this past year and though she has some pretty large challenges in her young life, she is a sweet girl who really just wants to know she is good and that somebody loves her. She is 10 years old and  loves dogs and animals of any type and can often be found either petting a cat or playing with her stuffed dogs.

Electric Lady is quite a spunky little girl. We first met her at age 6 when she spent 7 months living with our family. She then went to live with a grandparent and stayed there for 7 more months. When she was 7 and a half, we heard that she was coming back into foster care and needed to be placed in a treatment home so we jumped up and made it known that we would love to have her back. Now 9 years old, this Electric little girl has ADHD and a temper that could scare away a wild tiger but we love her dearly!

Last, but certainly not least is this darling little monkey girl. She is 17 months old and my little shining star and such a happy girl. She is the only one I have carried within my body and is definitely a Momma’s girl. She does love her daddy though and is particularly fond of her big brothers and sisters. Her favourite things are watching Wonderpets, playing with her Shrek baby and reading books.
